Hi I'm Kat..not much too me, I get obsessed with things easily if their worth it.. once I'm obsessed, watch out :D
I launched this site, February 2007 and I've had a lot of success with it, I thank my visitors for that. My original intention was this to only be a graphics dump for Richey fans in need of avatars,sigs, and whatnot, but I kept adding things, and it became a full blown fansite..
Anyway.. I'm the rare-type, American Manicx fan, however I'd love to move to the U.K. someday, preferably Wales, with those millions of sheep (I love sheep :), I'd fit right in ;)

Its not updated as much as this one though, mainly because there are many No Doubt fansites out there, but not many Richey ones still kicking around.

So how did I discover the Manics?

Few years ago, I came across a website that mentioned his disappearance, his self harm, etc, etc.They had some lyrics from ''Die In The Summertime'' posted, and I liked them so I downloaded the song..I fell in love. I was quick to find some more songs and before too long I had a massive collection and had become quite the Manic's enthusiast..

Why do I like the Manic's so much?

Well someone once said, that, ''You either love them to death, or hate them to death''. I love them. In fact another article said that Manic's fans are of the ''rabid;fanatic;loyal type'', oh that would be me :) I particularly like the word 'rabid' in there. Unfortunetly for me I was born in the U.S. so over hear you say, ''Manic Street Preachers'' and are returned with : 'whaaaa?'. I've tried various times to get people into the Manic's. I've been successful with a few. I have one friend I've known since I was in Pre-K become a massive fan this past year, and another friend is just getting into them, and she talks wonderfully about them. Hearing that warms my heart.. I've gotten off topic from the question, but really the reason I love the Manic's:

1. The lyrics. God, there isn't a word to describe them that does justice. No one has ever been able to sing my own thoughts to me the way The Manic's do. Richey and Nicky = Lyrical geniuses. James and Sean = Musical geniuses.
I'll always be a sucker for the earlier stuff..Generation Terrorists era songs always make me want to rebel..I love how almost every song could be an anthem.
The Holy Bible, got me through some really difficult times.The album is dark..but pure genius..and unfortunetly a sign of Richey's breaking down.

So why a Richey fansite?

Well, Richey is how I got into the Manic's remember? Richey is the only person, famous, or non famous, I've ever heard about who is like me in some sense. Richey is the only person I've ever seen be so honest about his issues, and he's helped me become more honest about mine, and not ashamed. I'm a recovering from some habits, and Richey is a constant help. I don't want to get so bad as he got towards the end. He's special to me.
